Asia is expected to take the lead in the building of Smart Cities over the next century. With a predicted 62 Megacities (cities with more than 10 million people) by 2025, up from the current 32, it has become imperative for Asia to develop its model to improve the quality of life among its citizens and to remain relevant in the digital age.

Initiatives are underway across the region to improve necessary infrastructure and implementing SMART CITIES applications and solutions. As such, there is a need to develop platforms for Mayors, urban city planners and practitioners and professional in relevant sectors that will benefit from the roll out of 5G to foster cooperation, share experiences and get updated on the latest innovative solutions.

The ASEAN SMART CITIES CONGRESS 2022, which will be held on 27-28 September 2022 at the Malaysian International Trade Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in conjunction with the SMART NATION 2022 Expo, is tailored to meet this pertinent need. The Congress will welcome an impressive panel of Speakers and delegates from across the ASEAN region. A key focus of the Congress will be on pandemic preparedness in urban environment.

The SMART NATION 2022 Expo will showcase a range of exhibits including Smart Cities, 5G, AI, IoT, Fintech, E-mobility, Digital Banking, Smart Agriculture, Smart Energy, Smart Building, Smart Government and Smart Townships.
